siptel help leading global entertainment publisher stay ahead of the game A leading global entertainment publisher has recently expanded their UK business so needed to establish new offices. Not only were new offices required, they were also keen to upgrade their communications system, to allow remote working and inter-site connectivity between their offices both in the UK and internationally. The entertainment company short-listed several possible IT suppliers and subsequently chose siptel to develop and project manage their IT communications and oversee the migration to their new office. Having implemented the new system, siptel now support and maintain it on a day-to-day basis. siptel stood out from the crowd because they provided a consultative led approach, not a sales or product led approach, focusing on understanding the specific requirements of this successful global business. The nature of the entertainment business is such that the employees travel extensively throughout Europe and the world. They needed an infrastructure capable of enabling them to have voicemail and email access when out of the office. By being immediately responsive to customers and replying to voicemails and emails whilst on the move delivers an immediate return on investment. siptel selected an Avaya Voice over IP solution, which not only best matched the client’s required feature set and provided the benefit of remote working, it also reduced overall costs. A Cisco data network was implemented supporting Power over the Ethernet, allowing the Avaya handsets to be powered directly across the LAN. siptel managed the project from end to end, coordinating with the various vendors supplying equipment and services to the project. siptel’s engineers implemented the new infrastructure, successfully overcoming the challenge of integrating the new system within the secure corporate network. siptel also ensured the project kept to budget and was within the timescales provided. The European IT Manager for the company, commented, “siptel provided an ideal solution that caters for our needs and more, for example, the IP Softphone application has enabled us to contact any members of our global team at a touch of a button - no more need for spreadsheets. The Avaya solution has also given us the flexibility to route calls, create and configure hunt groups and do much more.
