siptel deliver new HQ IT infrastructure to global healthcare leader An innovative leader in the health and well-being industry needed to build a new headquarters in London, as part of their global expansion. It was crucial to choose the right technology for the business and siptel played a major role in their IT infrastructure. This well-known healthcare company serves millions of people through all stages of life. The ongoing growth and success of the business required a new European headquarters in London. siptel worked alongside other vendors and suppliers to provide the technology and communications components for the refurbished offices. The company needed a communications platform for their new HQ which was above all reliable, flexible and with feature-rich functionality. The Avaya IP range of products fit their criteria, namely the Communication Manager Solution. When it came to choosing the technology partner to deploy and implement the IT communications technology, they wanted support from a well-known and reliable service provider who would ensure that the project went to plan, from the initial stages of procurement right through to implementation. A tender went out to siptel, Nortel and Cisco - siptel won the business based not only on a well deserved recommendation from Avaya, but also on their proven business success in the area of IP technology and their wealth of SIP experience. siptel’s consultants were engaged in the project at a very early stage, on a direct contract with the healthcare company to project manage the installation of the voice, data and video technology. Whilst deploying the IP–based solution, siptel also interfaced and coordinated with the various vendors supplying other equipment (such as cabling) and services to the project. The Director of European Programme Operations said, “Our Communication Manager solution is running well and has more than met our requirements. siptel’s brief was to tailor a solution which would future proof the investment we put in whilst still providing reliability, flexibility and feature-rich functionality. They have successfully achieved this. siptel was an important part of a large project and worked seamlessly to deliver the technology to our new offices. Without their dedicated team, a smooth transition to the new office with the minimum of business disruption would have been a lot more challenging”. The company plans to roll out the IP solution to home/remote workers, allowing them to be integrated into the single IP solution, therefore reducing management, support and running costs. They also plan to implement Unified Messaging, which will provide longer-term cost and support benefits. siptel had been engaged by the healthcare business for their consulting, project management and implementation expertise in this future roll-out. |
