Football Club chooses siptel to steer them towards premier league technology

A well known football club decided on an overall refit for the club and it seemed sensible to upgrade their technology whilst they refitted. A new voice solution was required to replace their expensive Telewest Centrix service, which was costing them in the region of £10-£15 per line, per month. With over 200 extensions, it is understandable that the primary motivation behind the new technology was cost reduction. They also wanted more flexibility in their communications and improved functionality.

They put out a request to various companies and suppliers, eventually choosing siptel to provide them with a tailored telecoms solution, the Avaya Communications S8700 Media Server. There are over 200 users around the stadia who are benefiting from this advanced Avaya solution, including a 12 agent ticketing call centre. CMS reporting has been implemented, to provide historical data across all sites and the call logger monitors usage of all calls. The Avaya solution also ensures that the users benefit from the freedom of mobility – calls can be forwarded off site and transferred anywhere around the system. Additionally, as one would expect from a dual processor system, it has the crucial 99.999% reliability.

They have an ongoing maintenance contract with siptel, who support the Avaya system and make sure that it performs to its optimum capabilities.

The communications upgrade that has already been carried out at the site is possibly the first building block of multiple sites within the stadia group. As for any future technology requests, IVR (Interactive Voice Response) may be included at a later date and they are also considering automated calls to reduce the actual on-line call time.

The Finance Director commented, “We are very pleased with the cost savings that have been achieved as a result of changing our communications technology and the Avaya solution has also given us so much more flexibility. We selected siptel to manage and implement the technology upgrade because of their proven track record and ability to successfully deliver this type of solution, which they have done many times before. I am delighted to say that they have not let us down and I would have no hesitation in recommending them”.
