siptel makes the final short list at Channel Network Awards The Channel Network Awards recognise the best practices in client solutions and encourage channel partnerships and relationships across the whole of the IT, telephony, voice/data convergence and Internet industries. These are the only awards that recognise real world ICT solutions as well as channel partnerships. Siptel, an independent IT, voice and data solutions were delighted to have been short listed down to the last three entrants from an impressive 167 resellers, for the Channel Networks Awards 2005. The Channel Network Awards, held at The Grove, have established themselves as a key event in the channels calendar. The judging panel was carefully selected from some of the top industry gurus, namely: Alan Cobb (Director General of TIA and 40 years’ experience in telecoms), Mike Briercliffe (Chairman of InterForum, a not-for-profit organisation that helps British businesses to trade electronically), John Teague (Founder of Itec Consultancy, one of the leading convergence training and consultancy organisations in the UK), Alan Norman (Managing Director of IT Europa, the major provider of pan-European channel and market intelligence) and Keith Humphreys (managing consultant of EuroLan, a leading channel analyst and consultancy company). The judges had to adhere to strict criteria and were looking for IT solutions from the stiff competition that addressed the specific needs of the client and enabled them to operate more efficiently and effectively. The criteria for the IT Solution category, entered by siptel, incorporated the following technologies, to deliver real business benefits to the client: Intelligent LANs, WANs, wireless, VPNs, security, servers, storage solutions and managed services. siptel put forward a solution they had implemented for a large events organiser, who organised the well-publicised and very successful Live 8 concert in Hyde Park. The high profile solution was designed to deliver secure and reliable communications for attendees at Live 8, including production managers, broadcast teams, administration personnel, press, emergency services, security staff and performers themselves. siptel managed the installation of an Avaya telephony system, a LAN/WAN network and cabling with VPN connectivity, as well as features such as firewalls and voicemail, all with an impressive 5 9’s reliability. When siptel was short listed down to the last three at the Channel Network Awards, Steve Rasmussen, Director for siptel, commented, “We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top voice and data resellers in a very competitive industry. Reaching the finals is a major achievement in itself, especially considering the number and quality of entries, so I am very proud that siptel has come so far in such a short time.” Rasmussen continued, “We very much look forward to entering the awards next year, and whilst we continue to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations, we anticipate that siptel will stand out from the crowd once again.” |
