The name Siptel is derived from what is emerging as the two most relevant open technology standards that businesses worldwide will be accustomed to and manufacturers will conform to in the delivery of relevant strategic solutions - ‘SIP’ and ‘IP Telephony’.
SIP or ‘Session Initiated Protocol’ relates to the open standard which will shape the communications industry and all related technologies, devices and services. This open standard which key manufacturers and application developers are committed to comply with, will enable a user the flexibility to manage voice, data and video calls in their chosen fashion which will drive new common technologies, user applications and services.
IP Telephony or ‘Internet Protocol Telephony’ relates to the rapid emergence and deployment of IP within a converged world of both data and telephony applications and networking. The main drivers for business to adopt this converged strategy are cost reduction, productivity increases, leveraging of existing platforms, flexibility and competitive advantage.
